How to Change Your iPhone Carrier Name in iOS 10 Using CustomCarrier

Changing your default carrier logo or name on the iPhone has always been one of my favorite things to do after jailbreaking my iOS device.

This isn’t a difficult task since we both know there is a utility out there for Mac and Windows that allows you to create a custom carrier on your iPhone and iPad. We even wrote an in-depth article showing you how to do it.

Although that tool doesn’t require users to have a jailbroken device, several people have reported that it doesn’t work on their iPhone.

Specifically more recent models such as the iPhone 6s Plus or iPhone SE.

Well, now that the iOS 10 jailbreak is out you can take advantage of this tweak called CustomCarrier to do the same thing on your iOS 10.

As its name suggested, this tiny package will let you change your default iPhone carrier name in iOS 10 to whatever you want.

For example, my phone currently says T-Mobile on the status bar; I can change it to Katherine or whatever text I prefer.

Are you ready? Let’s go…

How to Change your Carrier Name in iOS 10

  1. Go to Cydia and wait for your sources to update
  2. Switch over to the Search page
  3. Enter CustomCarrier (iOS 10)
  4. The author of this tweak is @ijapija00
  5. Install and Respring

After that, go to your stock Settings app. From there, scroll down until you see the tweak’s preference page.

Here you will be able to enable/disable CustomCarrier. Furthermore, you will get a chance to enter a custom text to replace your default carrier name.

To make the magic happen, tap on the Apply Changes. Your iPhone should restart and show the appropriate change.

In case your iOS device isn’t jailbroken, please refer back to the previous link. That tutorial should be able to help you out.

There is also another tweak called Zeppelin that let you do the same thing. However, it’s currently outdated, and so CustomCarrier tweak (iOS 10 version) is your only option right now.
