How to Delete New Snapchat Feb 2018 Update and Get Old One Back

Snapchat recently rolled out an update for their app and it’s not looking good for most users. Snapchat received negative feedbacks and criticisms from multiple sources including their App Store page and Twitter.

If you absolutely hate the new 2018 Snapchat update, there is still hope because there are ways to get the older version of Snapchat back.

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to delete the new Snapchat version on your iPhone and re-install the older app’s version right back.

Option #1: Use unofficial tweaked Snapchat

Okay, it doesn’t sound as bad as the title. Basically, there is a modified version of Snapchat called Snap++ that provides users with additional features such as faking their location, screenshot someone’s photos & videos without them knowing, and more.

The current unofficial version happens to contain the older interface. This means you can install it on your iOS device and things will be back to normal.

To install Snapchat++, however, will require that you have a computer. It could be a Mac or Windows.

Here are the instructions:

  1. Click here to download the Snap++ .ipa file
  2. Also, download a tool called Cydia Impactor from this page.
  3. Connect your iPhone to the computer
  4. Delete your current Snapchat app
  5. Open Cydia Impactor
  6. Drag and drop the Snapchat.ipa file into Impactor
  7. Enter your Apple ID and Password.

If you’re prompted with an error via Cydia Impactor, please follow the fixes in this post.

You should see the Snapchat icon on your home screen. Before you can open the app, there is one last thing to do. Go to the Settings app > General > Profiles & Device Management. Tap “Verify” for the Snapchat profile you just installed.

Now you can open the new Snapchat app and use it as normal.

Option #2: Downgrade Snapchat

If you have a jailbroken iPhone, there is a tweak called AppAdmin that you can use to downgrade any apps on your device. In this case, we’re talking about Snapchat.

You can learn more about this tweak from here. The gist of it is: after you install AppAdmin, just look for Snapchat v10.23.11.0.

I know a lot of people doesn’t like the new Snapchat update so hopefully, this tutorial was able to help you get the older Snapchat back.

Let me know if you have any questions.
