How to Fix Random Incoming iPhone Calls in iOS 10

Are you currently receiving random phone calls after updating to iOS 10?

Me too. Literally…

Since the past hours, I’ve been receiving tons of calls that I don’t even know. The unique part is that they are not telemarketers. Surprisingly, the callers are people in my family.

But how the hell did their calls gets redirect to my iPhone?

Calls on Other Devices: Explained

There is a new feature in iOS 10, enabled by default, that you might not know about. It’s called Calls on Other Devices.

But what’s this?

According to Apple:

Use your iPhone cellular account to make and receive calls on devices signed into your iCloud account when they are nearby and on Wi-Fi.

This pretty much explains why you have been receiving random incoming calls on iOS 10.

The primary purpose was to forward phone calls to your computer, but then doing the opposite, redirecting them to different iPhone and iPad that share the same Apple ID.

How to turn it off

Although, Calls on Other Devices is enabled by default; you can disable it.

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Go to Phones > Calls on Other Devices
  3. Toggle it Off

From now on, you can get your peaceful “Recent” calls list back.

And special thanks to Dini for sharing this tip.

Still not good enough?

We will go ahead and hand the mic over to your carrier now. There is nothing you and I can do.

Whether you have T-Mobile, AT&T, or Verizon. Give them a call if you continue to see undirected phone calls showing up.
