Checking the weather is something we all make use of on our Apple Watch.
Why does it matter?
Weather affects the everyday lives of individuals by governing choices from what clothes to put on, when to travel, and the activities in which they participate.
With the default Weather app on your Apple Watch, you can immediately know the current temperature, future forecast, and avoid the hassle of looking it up on a laptop or iOS device.
While this application performs really well most of the time, some users recently reported a few problems with it.
This include:
- Inaccurate data
- Unable to detect users’ location
- Weird spinning
- And much more

Basic Troubleshooting
It doesn’t matter what your problem is, try one of the most basic methods below.
- Restart your Apple Watch
- Unpair both devices and then re-pair them
- Enable Airplane Mode and disable it after 10 seconds
No Location in the Weather app
I asked Siri on my Apple Watch to check for the weather. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to identify my current location. If this happens to you, try the solution below.
- Go to the Settings app
- Navigate to Privacy > Location Services
- Turn this feature on
If that still doesn’t work, try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, the internet connection wasn’t strong enough for Apple Watch to detect your location.
Spinning dots or Cannot Retrieve Any Data
Step 1: Open Apple Watch app > My Watch > Weather > Default City
Step 2: Set it to Current location or the city of your choice.
Step 3: Try to delete the cities you have on the weather app and reload them.
By deleting and reloading, some users have found that the information is correctly synced and displayed on the watch.
Hate the default Weather app?
No worries, you still have a few more options to choose from. One of the most popular apps in this category is the Dark Sky. This app gives you the current weather, daily hi/low and sunrise sunset times in a nice looking interface.
If you are big into customizing your Watch faces, Carrot has some useful features, and their watch face is customizable. The last application that you may want to check out is called Wunderground. It also has Radar feature in which you can see the storm intensity.
Weather reports are essential in a country like USA, where weather changes frequently. Apple Watch has an amazing stock Weather app that gives details of weather changes at regular hours.
Deleting all of my Weather App cities and re-adding worked for me.
