Free iCloud+ Upgrade Email: Is This Real or a Scam?

Recently, I opened my email and saw this subject line: You’ve been upgraded to iCloud+ for free.

Having received many phishing emails, I was not too quick to click on any link.

I started paying for additional iCloud storage not too long ago, and then suddenly, an email arrived in my inbox saying I’ve been upgraded for free. That seems a little too good to be true.

Great news! We’ve automatically upgraded your iCloud storage plan to iCloud+ at no additional charge. iCloud+ combines everything you already love about iCloud with new features…

I contacted Apple Support over the phone to find out. Luckily, this is not a scam. This is actually legit. My account was upgraded to iCloud+ for $0.

iCloud+ is just a rebrand of iCloud storage. It adds additional features and services like VPN, Private Relay, and custom email.

So there you have it. This is an actual email from Apple. It’s not a scam.
