How to Install Cydia Extender Without a Paid Developer Account

Saurik, the creator of Cydia Impactor recently updated his utility to address the SSL verification error that users saw when they tried to re-jailbreak the Yalu app.

But that’s not all…

When Impactor re-opened itself after you download the new version, there is now an option called “install Cydia Extender.” Saurik tweeted out about this new feature, but no description was included except for saying

1) Cydia Extender is not the thing you think it is. 2) Cydia Extender apparently also isn’t the thing I thought it was.

via a comment on the r/Jailbreak subreddit.

So what’s Cydia Extender?

Cydia Extender was introduced to help iOS users auto-sign their applications without having to use the computer. As you may know, every seven days, an app expires, and you have to re-sign it by connecting your iPhone or iPad to the computer and then use Cydia Impactor to sign it.

This can be a hassle for most of us, therefore, having the ability to auto-sign or resign the app directly on the device is much better. Although that’s the feature that Cydia Extender will provide, Saurik has noted that it will only work if you have a paid Apple Developer account.

Now that all the details have been revealed, it’s important to let you guys know the following:

  • A paid developer account will cost you $99 a year
  • When you sideload an .IPA file using Xcode with your paid account, it will last for a whole year

This is why Saurik claimed that Cydia Extender wasn’t the tool he thought it would be.

But here is the good news. Someone on Reddit has found a way to get the Extender feature without purchasing a developer account from Apple.

How to Install Cydia Extender on your iOS

  1. Open Cydia Impactor on your computer
  2. You will be prompted to update the software
  3. Find the impactor.dat file
  4. Rename it to (changing the extension)
  5. Install the Extender IPA file to your device

I hope that work and we will continue to update this post if there is an easier way to install Cydia Extender without having to pay a single dime.

In case you can’t find your impactor.dat file or can’t convert it, then try this pre-built extender.ipa.

Earlier, I did receive a popup that says, “Error provision.cpp71…The ‘Network Extensions’ feature is only available to users enrolled in Apple Developer Program…”.

  1. hello guys, i placed the extender.ipa in the same folder where cydiaimpactor is and now you abble to drag the NwaStone_1.0.ipa to the impactor program , then put your itunes ID and passw.

NOTE: i installed the extender.ipa to the device like this page said (i used ifunbox ) but im not sure if this step helps cause i didnt see any app installed or something.
And sorry for my bad english but i tougth that i have to share this to you.

  2. just open impactor.exe , don’t need to run it yet
tab at top use device, then install package.
find kodi file, then put in your apple email and password.
simple as that , works a treat.

  3. Word of note when using impactor don’t put in your iTunes ID password. I use impactor to reload an app that was removed from my purchased apps and I can no longer download it or anything, “Star Battalion HD”. When I first side loaded it I used my applaud ID & pass. Hours later I got a warning about an attempted login originating in Hefei

  4. So I was fresh installing it and made a developer account but didn’t start it yet so the acc is made just the certificate is pending and when I put in the pre built extender it was putting Cydia into my iPhone but stopped with a new message popping up saying,

    ios/submitDevelopmentCSR =7460
You already have a current iOS Development certificate or a pending certificate request

So I’m thinking I have to delete to pending certificate request so that I can continue and have Cydia on my IPhone. Problem is I have absolutely no Idea how!

  5. One year later and I’m still getting error code 81…seems like cydia is more of a pain to download than I thought…
