iPhone popup “Do you want Safari to download ucmcontroller?”

When I saw the weird pop-up dialog box asking me if I wanted Safari to download ucmcontroller, I was a bit confused.

What is ucm controller pop up, and why does the Safari app on my iPhone need it?

I did a quick search, and apparently, it’s a program that allows you to control your Mac using your voice. I’m not sure why Safari would need it, but I’m not going to download it just in case.

Here are a few things you can do if your iPhone suddenly gives you a popup that says, “Do you want Safari to download ucmcontroller?”

  1. Close out the current pagepage on your Safari browser app.
  2. Turn off your iPhone and turn it back on.
  3. Clear your browser’s history and data.
  4. Do a complete reset of your device (go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings). This method is not required unless you’ve already installed a profile or something unwanted on your iPhone or iPad.

  1. My phone has this remote iCloud Quota UI in my system settings and I wondering if I’ve been hacked or I’m being monitored?
