Game Center is an online gaming network created specifically for Apple mobile devices including the iPad and iPod touch. This feature allows you to connect with your friends, invite other people to compete in a game, and start a multiplayer match. Do note that multiplayer feature isn’t always available since only certain games support it. Nevertheless, the Game Center app still gives many gamers a place to hang out and climb up and down with their high score on the leaderboard.
I used to think that as soon as my iPhone is connected to one Game Center account, then I can’t change it. This misconception also exists in many users as well. The truth is you can always create a new Game Center account and go on with all your games.
In today’s article, I’ll be showing you two important things: where to find the logout option in the app and how to make a new account on your iPhone or iPad.
How to Logout of Game Center
When you login to any gaming networks online, there is always an option to logout. But it really different with Game Center. In fact, you can’t even find its configurations inside the application.
So where is it?
- Go to the Settings app
- Scroll down and tap on Game Center
- Tap on your Apple ID and select Sign Out
When done, you should a new option called Sign In. I hope the above steps help you understand that when your Game Center account is your Apple ID. Which means if you want to change or create a new Game Center account, you will need to make another Apple ID.
In most cases, a credit card or debit card is required since you will be asked for it when creating a new Apple account.
How to Make a New Game Center Account for your iPhone
- Head over to this page to create another Apple ID
- After you filled out all the information and verify your account, go back to your iPhone
- Open up the Settings app and re-visit the Game Center page
- Tap on Sign In
- Enter the new Apple ID and Password
Whatever you decide to come up with, that’s your new Game Center account now. One thing I noticed is that you don’t have to stick with the new Apple ID for your App Store. In other words, you can continue using the other account to download apps, purchase music & movies, and use it for other settings.
What’s the point of a new Game Center account?
Nothing unless you play online games such as Clash of Clans or Clash Royale. Since these games are multiplayer, they won’t allow you to start all over again.
Personally, I made a lot of mistakes as a rookie, and I usually mess up my base pretty badly. The only way to redeem from it is starting as a new player, and that demands you to have a different account.

Where Is the Game Center App in iOS 10?
Apple released iOS 10 with a handful of new features including a revamped lock screen, new widget areas, and many enhancements to their stock apps. While these changes are beneficial to the overall user experience, the update has made it difficult for regular and experienced users to get the hang of.
Take the Game Center app for example. When you upgrade to iOS 10, you will notice that there will an app missing on the home screen. Yeah, Apple has removed the dedicated Game Center app. All the other functionality like sending invites has been moved as well. The invite feature now uses the iMessage app to send invites or directly within the game itself.
Just like I mentioned in the beginning of this post, you can access your Game Center account by going to Settings > and scroll down until you see Game Center. This tab is grouped with other utility apps such as Music and iBooks.
Be careful when making too many different Apple accounts
Apple doesn’t say how many iCloud accounts you can create, but they do put a limitation if you keep on attempting to sign in using the wrong credentials.
Some people have too many Apple accounts, and they keep switching back and forth. Sometimes you can forget their password or username, and that could lead to multiple attempts to login. When you reach a certain number, a popup will display saying “Maximum amount of accounts reached for this phone.”
You don’t want to go through any of this. The best advice I can give you is to write down your password if you’re going to be making a lot of Apple IDs.

Your instructions were the clearest I found and it was easy to set up a 2nd game centre account. I want to use 2 coc accounts but only have one now. Currently either game centre account is linked to my coc village. App centre doesn’t allow a new download on my iPad.
I’m missing the step on how to get a new coc account in the first place. Do I need to download on a different device? I’m stuck. Any advice will be appreciated. I have an iPhone, but linked my village to it. Got an old iPad but not enough storage to support coc unless somehow storage requirements can be assumed by my current iPad ????

ive tried everything, even created a different countries apple account to log out of my clash royale but everytime i download it or log out to a different game center, im always on the same one

I have created a new Apple ID and a new Game Center ID… when I open clash royale on my iPhone it still is loading my first account. Everything I have found online is saying I have to back my iPhone up to a computer which I do not have. I know on my old android phone it was so easy to do this because I had 3 accounts on clash of clans and clash royale. Please help me out I just want another account for clash royale.
Did you try to delete the app and then re-install it when you have logged in using the new Game Center?
I created a new apple id and a new game center account, I also deleted clash of clans and installed it again but my base is still saved and I cant create a new clash account.
You should delete the game first. Log out of your old Game Center and then try logging in with the new one.

I don’t think so as you’re only using the new Apple ID under your Game Center, not on the iCloud page.
No I am too scared to delete it because I don’t want anything to happen to my original account lol. Should I try that? Delete clash royale and then sign into my new Game Center Account and then reinstall clash royale?

You should try signing out of the game first. Reinstall Clash Royale and then login using your new Apple Id.

Interesting. Repeat the same process but sign out of your App Store and replace it with your new Game Center ID before re-installing the app.

Nope. I tried it on my own and it works perfectly here. You should try reseting your network (Settings > General > Reset) before initializing the new Game Center account.
Is it possibly to delete a saved game off of a Game Center account so you can use it for a better saved game, switched phones a few times got a higher saved game on new phone but if I log onto Game Center it will delete it and add the older saved game which isn’t as good. It’s only linked to Facebook which I don’t think means anything. The game is Clash Royal.
I’m a clasher with three different villages on three different devices – two iPads, one iPhone. All are set up under one Apple ID. One iPad is connected to my Game Center account, and therefore that village is safe. The other iPad and iPhone are not connected to Game Center. I’m worried about losing my progress while setting up new Apple IDs. Also, I thought apps could only be updated under the Apple ID they were originally downloaded with, so I’m concerned about creating a new Apple ID. Straight forward and clear instructions, but what if Game Center can’t be accessed? i.e. press Game Center in the settings and the phone just freezes. Happened after latest iOS update and can’t find a fix available yet.
